SHORTEST ROUTE - Drop at Sonarpur Railway Station and take auto for Rathala more and from the junction of Rathtala it is just 2 min walking distance.

METRO ROUTE - By metro yoy can reach Kavi Nazrul that is Garia Bazar metro and from there auto is available.

LOCATION - Hogulkuria Rajpur Road, Ramchandrapur, Narendrapur, Kolkata, West Bengal 700103.

OPENING TIME - 6 a.m - 5 p.m (including Sunday)

DESCRIPTION - This is a protected area for plants and wildlife. It's a bird sanctuary any one can visit but practically it's a photographer zone you can say it family zone but not for picnic. Anyone can visit, but if you want to avoid couples then better not visit. Couples are found all over the place. Officially there is not any parking zone, but there are open place for parking on the roadside. There is no parking area inside the sanctuary. however one can park his or her four wheeler outside the gate. No parking fee will be charged. Bike can also be parked and it is safe. Sitting arrangement, drinking water and toilet for both male and female is available. There are few guards in the sanctuary who are available alternately and they collect the entry fees of Rs 50 per head and provide the receipt. However no permanent contact number is available. Suggested not to carry lunch inside. But you can take only some dry food like cake, Biscuit etc. Please do not throw any plastic inside. Maintain silence for birds and birding photographs. Take precautions for mosquitoes. Food is not allowed inside. And for entry of 60-70 people, the authority should be priorly informed. If they allow you, you can get food supplied by shops adjacent to Southern Bypass. There are some shops with good to average quality food nearby. Thanks. For carrying camera inside you also need permission. In winter season you can find varieties of birds, butterflies, damselflies, orchid, flora and fauna.
